An evolving body of work exploring identity, worth, and the cultural value of Black men.

I started Gifted in 2010 out of curiosity. I was photographing and interviewing Black men around me, asking about their dreams, their fears, and the lives they were building. What I found was a depth and complexity that rarely gets seen in full.

Gifted became a way to bring that into view.

Through portraiture and conversation, I explore the humanity, ambition, vulnerability, and influence that shape who we are. The work effortlessly moves beyond limiting narratives, revealing a more complete reflection of Black men across industries and experiences.

What began as a personal project has grown into a platform.

Through the book, and now a series of curated dinners and conversations, I create space for Black men to be seen, heard, and reflected back to themselves. At the center of it all is a dialogue around worth, not something to prove, but something they already carry within.

This work isn’t about changing perception alone.

It’s about creating moments where they recognize themselves clearly and walk away with a deeper understanding of their value and the impact they have on the communities around them.
